I want to give a "shout out" to all the great folks at All Hands in Motion and NY Foundling.  Teaching hard of hearing and foster kids and their families the joy of cake and cookie decorating has really been a blast!

Sometimes we cakers get caught up in the competitiveness of cake decorating and the adulation of others, but sharing your skills and making an impact upon others with your artistry and talent, to me, is what cake decorating and sugar art is all about. Don't forget to give back.

Spring Fling Cupcakes!

I went to Michael's today and saw some really neat things in the cake decorating aisle. Wilton has come up with some cute and relatively inexpensive spring cupcake wrappers. I bought a set of the picket fence cupcake wrappers to grace some cupcakes I plan to make for an garden party on Saturday.  

Like these cute cupcakes? Wilton has the instructions on their website. Really easy to create too!

Remember listening to "The Cat in the Hat" when you were a kid? Member Christine Santos created this wonderful whimsical cake inspired by the favorite children's book. Christine has a passion for cake decorating and her dream is to open a custom cake business.
