Fondant 2D China Doll Cake

I came across this neat video on creating a Fondant China Doll Cake.  Really cute, reminds me a little of Tokidoki characters. For your spring parties use cherry blossoms, hydrangea, or peonies.

Kids Luv Cake!

Even kids love cake decorating!
This cute lil' turtle mini-cake was the finale cake decorated by an 9 yr. old aspiring pastry chef.

Pretty good, huh?

Memoirs of a Geisha - Cake Class with Bronwen!

NYC Cake Decorators were so excited to attend the Geisha Airbrush Class with Bronwen Weber and husband Francois Long on June 6th. The event took place at University Settlement, 273 Bowery--a really great rental space! The event painstakingly coordinated by Assistant Organizer Ayana was a great success! Bronwen was thorough with her instructions and we all had time to carve and cover our cakes with fondant and to complete some airbrushing.

The completed Geisha cake shown was created by member Jade-eye. Jade-eye is a talented sculptor of clay who is really getting the hang of carving cake. Check out Jade-eye's other creations at Marzipan Dolls. She is also on Facebook.
